This is a more advanced 8-hour course taught by one of our certified instructors. This includes both classroom time and live range time. Once you have the basics down, you’ll be ready to learn how to handle active shooter situations and other dangerous threat incidents. This intense course is designed with one goal in mind: to save lives.
Students will learn:
- What takes place in real life defensive shooting situations
- How to handle a gun under stress
- What constitutes a deadly threat
- How to make accurate shot placements rapidly and under stress
- Tactical reload
- Malfunction clearances when things go wrong with the pistol
- How to use cover and concealment
- How to move while and after shooting
- Rapid target acquisition
- How to deal with multiple threats
- How to engage targets at multiple distances
- Selection of a defensive pistol and accessories
- Selection of defensive and training ammunition
- Safe gun handling for concealed carry
- Emergency procedures to follow if injured while in the field. How to communicate emergency dispatch, proper aid for different situations.
